married woman!

Well, I am a married woman! 2 weeks and 3 days into a marriage and we are going strong! The wedding went quite well I must say. My nephew was the ring bearer he was a little, how can i say this, STUBBORN. He wouldnt listen and threw the ring bearer's pillow into the pews and hit Devin's grandmother with it. Then he started running around like a little monkey. haha. Then when it was time for the unity candle we could not light it so Devin took it off the stand and we lit it that way. On the way back up to the preacher I almost busted my butt because my dress was just a tad too long in the front and I kept stepping on the dress. Luckily, my husband caught me! If you are interested in some pictures you can go here: http://robertagideon.smugmug.com/gallery/8389722_TgFAU#550577022_Zye2o
My friend Roberta took pictures for her practice and she did a wonderful job. There will be more pictures from anther photographer once he gets them finished.

Napkins

So we've got 20 days from today and I will be Mrs. Devin Kelley. This is what I've been waiting for!

Here is what our napkins will look like:

I am still deciding on music for the wedding. Lori is going to send me a cd with different traditional songs on it and I plan to rip the cd onto my  laptop and create my own cd for the wedding. I do know one song we will definately have on the cd and it will be our song by Jimmy Wayne. it is called "You Are". You should look up the lyrics, its a sweet song.

Also, some things have changed in the past month or so that I've been able to update. One of my bridesmaid had to drop her position and she was replaced with another friend of mine, Heather.  So now the line up goes: Cara, Heather W, Alicia, Brittany, and Heather H. My flower girl is still Madison Meeks, and the ring bearer is my nephew Coleman.  Devin's line up for his guys is: Daniel, Ryan, Jeremy, Steven, and Chris. He did his by height. All of my girls are just about the same height, or just an inch or so apart, so that would be difficult.

Another thing that has changed is that I am not requiring that the girls cover their tattoos on their back. Now three of them have tattoos on their back and that is just alot of money to pay out for them to cover their tattoos. I figure it is not that big of a deal. Everyone is their own person and express themselves different ways. Besides the only time they will be seen during the ceremony is when they walk down the isle. They wont be noticeable in pictures so that is a plus.

Also, originally I was going to have my sister (MOH) wear a apple red sash and the bridesmaids wear a black sash. That is out now, I couldnt find the right material for them to wear.

Food is being brought by different family members and I am still unsure if there will be a Bride/Groom dance or a father/daughter dance, or mother/son dance. Part of me wants it, part of me doesn't care. Sophie, Devin's mom said she is not sure if the church will allow it or not.

My dress is altered and finished! It only took her two weeks!! She took up SEVERAL inches in the length, and a 1/2 inch on each side, and about 4 inches in the neck line. I still have to get a backless bra and foot petals to prevent my foot from sliding forward in my shoes.

I can't believe we have only 20 days!

Oh yeah, we booked our Honeymoon to Disneyworld a few weeks ago. We will be leaving on May 31st and returning to Alabama on June 6th. After we sign out of the resort at DisneyWorld on the 6th we are going to possibly stop and see his Great Aunt Merle in Coco Beach for a bit and then head back home.

Wanted to keep this a secret, but I'm too proud and excited!

I couldn't find enough WHITE pearl bracelets for my girls anywhere! So yesterday I was walking around Walmart after looking for a white sundress and I wandered across the arts and crafts section with jewelry making and I found 3 packs of white pearls! I told my self "You can make these things!!". So I did. I was SOOO excited to be doing this and it puts a special touch on them all since I made them.

There were a few things I was unsure of with making them like did I need to buy the little metal clasps to clamp the end of the bracelet, what kind of closure did I need to use like a magnetic clasp, a box clasp, or a hook. I had put all my stuff down because my hands were getting full and ran up front to grab a buggy. When I got back to the jewelry making isle there was three people standing there. I was afraid they were going to take my stuff. I had got all the white pearls that were left. It turns out this couple made jewelry and sold it so she had some tips for me and all! It was so great and I was really excited! I'm even thinking about making the earrings too if I can find some more white pearls at Enterprise or Dothan Walmart and taking back the ones I bought already because I think I could make them more how I want them.

The little one is for Madison, my flower girl.

Showers

We've got several showers coming, which I am super duper excited about!!

April 17th- Bridal shower at my work thrown by the Fire Customer Service Department
April 19th- Bridal shower at church thrown by the Church
April 25th- Couples shower aka "Hay-man" shower (haha) thrown by Devin's aunt Brenda and Carla and Uncle Tony and Stacey
May 3rd- Bridal shower thrown by my bestie Heather Marie Woollard
May 23rd- Bachelorette Party thrown by a few people (I know some people were going to and I know some people are still going to but I dont know who is still going to throw it. So please don't feel left out because I didn't name names on this one.)
May 30th- OUR WEDDING!!
Kim brought me the mirrors today to use on the reception tables. They are a little bit smaller than what I was thinking, but I have a plan. We can center the larger mirror tiles (Kim's) and then use two of the smaller mirror tiles (Britt's) in a diagonal style and then continue with the center piece design I posted earlier.

I still have not picked out music. I just keep putting it off! I know it can't be that hard to pick out music. hehe

Only 58 days!

Our wedding bands a a few other things...

The invitation

Devin's Ring and My Ring

Devin's Ring

Our cake topper

Wedding plans are coming along nicely. Next Saturday Sophie, Brenda and I are going to go to Troy to finish up the invitations at the library on campus. They have a whole puncher than punches deeper than a single hole punch and a cutter that has a laser to cut more even and precise. Brenda also works at Troy Campus and can print the invitation for us.

I need to start working on the rest of the favors and all. I need to print the tags for the bubbles and the almonds.

Alicia's mother in law Judy is doing our flowers. I also have to buy the flowers for the corsages for the parents and grandparents.

I think I have My Girls gifts picked out. I hope ya'll like them and that they will be special to you all in some way!

Cake

This is the cake I like and would really like one just like it except with a 'K' on top. I actually like the style of the 'H' on the cake too. I would like the cake to be square and I like the dots on it too. The only change I would make to this cake would be the color... which I'm thinking maybe red dots and black ribbon or vice-versa.  The lady making our cake said she does not have square cake pans, but she might invest in them. If she decides NOT to invest in square cake pans then we will settle for a round cake, which I think would still look nice. If I can remember right she is charging $125 for the cake that is 3 layers with delivery to New Brockton from Opp and is cream cheese icing instead of that other icing (I can't recall the name right now).
